Canvas - Known Issue - Embedded Youtube Videos Play Advertisements

If watching an embedded Youtube video in Canvas, the video may play with advertisements.

    Instructure is changing the way Canvas works with Youtube. Youtube videos embedded in Canvas now may contain advertisements. Instructure is aware of this issue, but currently has no plans to fix it.

    Workaround

    Learn@UW has confirmed that advertisements will not play on Youtube videos added to Kaltura. To add a Youtube video to Kaltura, see the guide Add YouTube videos to your Kaltura video portal from the Kaltura Knowledge Center.
