Contact: Annie McGrail, Assistant Press Office Director The Associated Students of Madison Student Council met on Wednesday, December 12 at 6:30 p.m. The minutes for the meeting can be found here. Jocelyn Milner, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Director of Academic Planning and Institutional Research spoke at council to discuss the Higher Learning Commission Accreditation Project. There was a motion to change the nomination process proposed by Jeremy Swanson, this was not passed and the vote was 3-10-5. Legislative Affairs Chair Laura Downer discussed the upcoming state legislature budget and shared her plan and priorities for this upcoming budgets. The proposal was written by Chair Downer, but was collaborated on with other students on campus and other council members. GSSF Budget was brought to the board tby Chair Swanson to be voted on at tonight's meeting. The proposed budget had a decrease of 1.44 percent overall, totalling $1,079,164.13 some GSSF groups saw increases, while others received increases. By a margin of 13-0-0 that budget for fiscal year 2020 was approved. The Student Judiciary fiscal year 2020 budget was up for approval and after discussion, the budget was approved. The Student Activity Center Governing Board budget was proposed to council for approval. SACGB Chair Jordan Pasbrig, proposed an amendment to the increase the members section of the budget. The SACGB budget was approved with one amendment by 8-3-1.
