Macintosh Software Licensing and Availability
Adobe Acrobat
This software may be purchased on a per-seat basis from the TechStore at a substantial discount. See Botany IT for licensing and installation media. You may want to consider the various details about the Contractual Licensing Program (CLP) under which this software is available before purchasing one or more copies.
When purchasing the software, you don't need to purchase the media. You only need to purchase a license from the TechStore, which will generate an e-mail to you. Forward the e-mail to Botany IT and make arrangements to get the physical media and the relevant license key.
Fetch
Fetch is an application that provides a nice front-end to FTP, FTPS, and SFTP. The University has a license for staff and students. To obtain the software, download it from Fetch Softworks.
Once you have downloaded and installed the software, download the UW license. Open Fetch, click on the Fetch menu (between the Apple and File menus), select "Enter Serial Number" and copy the information into the application from the UW license you downloaded above.
Microsoft Office 2008
Office 2008 for use on University-owned computers is site-licensed by the University. Installation of Office 2008 using departmental media onto student-owned or faculty/staff-owned computers is not permitted.
For Office 2008 DVDs, see Botany IT.
Note: You must have a DVD drive in your computer to install this software from disc. A regular CD-R or CD/RW drive commonly found in older computers will not suffice.
Office 2008 can also be installed over the network from the Department's Software Repository. This is your best bet for obtaining the software if you do not have a DVD drive.

Microsoft Office 2011
