UW-Madison Box (Ubuntu) - Connect to WebDav
This document provides the steps for mounting a secure WebDav to connect your UW-Madison Box account from Ubuntu Desktop 12 and 13.

Note: These instructions require that you have created an external Box password for your account. If you do not have an external password set up, complete the steps in UW-Madison Box - Creating an External Password before proceeding.
Click on the File Folder icon in the left launcher bar.
Move your cursor to the top of the screen to reveal the File menu. Click on the File menu to open it, then select Connect to Server.
In the Connect to Server window, enter the following:
- Server: dav.box.com
- Port: 443
- Type: Secure WebDave (HTTPS)
- Folder: /dav
- User name: netID@wisc.edu
- Password: Your external Box password (see UW-Madison Box - Creating an External Password)
If the WebDav folder was successfully created, you will see it listed in the left-hand navigation pane under Network with the name "WebDav as netid."
Click on the File Cabinet icon in the left launcher bar.
In the left-hand navigation bar, select Connect to Server (located under Network.)
In the Connect to Server window, enter the following URL into the Server Address field: davs://dav.box.com/dav
- Note: Alternatively, you may enter davs://firstname.lastname@example.org@dav.box.com/dav as the server address, where netid is replaced with your specific username. If you use this address, you will only be prompted for a password in the next window.
You will be prompted for your username and password. Enter your full WiscMail address (i.e. email@example.com) and the external password you created for your Box account (see UW-Madison Box - Creating an External Password.
If the WebDav folder was successfully created, you will see it listed in the left-hand navigation pane under Network with the name "dav.box.com."
