Saving files in Citrix XenApp
Where to save files when using Citrix XenApp.
When saving files in Citrix XenApp, please be make sure you are saving them to your CAE Filespace. In this KnowledgeBase Article, we will use EES as the example software, running in Citrix XenApp.
Some apps will use the directory the software is installed as the default save location, which is on the C:\ drive of the server where the software is running. THESE DRIVES GET ERASED NIGHTLY, SO ANY FILES SAVED THERE WILL BE DELETED.

Instead, we strongly recommend saving your files to your CAE Filespace, also known as your I:\ drive. This way, the files will also be accessible from any CAE-managed computer you use, as well as new sessions in Citrix.
To do so:
- click on "This PC" on the menu on the left.

- A list of drives, devices, and network locations will show up in the right side of the window. Scroll down to "Network Locations" and your CAE Filespace will be shown as your CAE Username along with a filepath. For example, for username bbadger, it will display as "bbadger(\\files.cae.wisc.edu\d) (I:)"

- Double click on your CAE Filespace (circled in image above), then choose where to save your files.
