Chrome Profile Locked on CAE Linux computers

How to clear lock files that prevent Google Chrome from opening on a CAE Linux computer.

Occasionally, Chrome will not close successfully on a CAE Linux computer, resulting in an error similar to the one below the next time you try to launch it:


Chrome Locked

When this happens, you can resolve the issue by deleting the Lock files from your directory.  The files are located in following directories:

$HOME/.config/google-chrome/SingletonCookie
$HOME/.config/google-chrome/SingletonLock@
$HOME/.config/google-chrome/SingletonSocket@ 

All 3 files can be removed at once by entering the following command in a Terminal:
rm -rf $HOME/.config/google-chrome/Singleton*
