[How-To] Use the TV in Conference Room 250
This is a step-by-step guide of connecting a laptop to the AV in CALS conference room 250. It allows you to project your laptop screen onto the TV.
- (Initial Check) Double-check the TV is plugged into the wall.
- Power on the TV:
- Locate the small controller attached to the bottom of the TV screen.

- Press the power button (the circular button in the middle of the controller with the power symbol).

- You will hear a starting noise and see the tv turn on with a "No Signal" pop-up, as imaged below. This is normal. In the next step, we will connect the TV to your laptop.

- Connect your laptop:
- Locate the dark silver Satechi adapter, usually on the small tray under the TV or on the conference table.
- Plug each of the three cables from the cords under the table into its respective port, as imaged.
- Plug the USB-C cord from the Satechi adaptor into your laptop's charging port/USB-C port.
- If your haven't done so already, turn on your laptop, and you will quickly see your laptop screen now projected on the TV.
- Ensure the volume works:
- Make sure your volume is on for your laptop.
- Next, make sure the volume is on for the TV
- Using the Samsung remote (usually located on the TV tray or the conference table), point the remote at the TV and increase the volume. You should see a blue bar to the left of the screen, indicating increasing/decreasing volume.
Now, everything should be working and you have successfully connected to Rm 250's AV. Yay!!
You can disconnect from the AV by:
- Unplugging the USB-C cable from your laptop.
- Locating the TV's small controller at the bottom right of it and pressing the center, circular power button.
- You will see a menu pop-up. Use your fingers to scroll using that same controller, and select the power button by pressing the center, circular power button again.
- You will hear a closing noise, indicating a successful power off!
