Instructions on connecting to CALS server for Mac users
Connecting to the CALSNet Fileserver

  1. In Finder, select Go | Connect To Server
  2. Type in the server address:   smb://files.cals.wisc.edu
  3. Click on the Connect button
  4. A login screen will appear asking for your fileserver credentials.   Type in your CALS Active Directory (AD) username (in most cases this is the same as your campus netid) and AD password.   Note that if you would like to save your password, you can do so by checking the "Remember this password in my keychain" box.

  1. Click connect.   You'll then see a list of volumes to mount.   You can choose to mount 1 or more volumes.   CALS_home contains the files that only you have access to (your "home"), CALS_groups contains the group "shares" for each Administrative unit and CALS_public contains the files that all Admin customers have access to.

  1. Select the volumes you wish to mount and click OK
