CALSNet Windows Active Directory (AD) - Change Password Procedure (Windows 7)

When the System Administrator originally creates your account on the CALSNet Windows Active Directory (AD) network a password is automatically assigned. This is just a temporary password and should be changed as soon as possible.
Changing Your Password
1. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Your desktop icons, toolbar, and running applications will disappear and you will see the screen:
2. Click the Change a Password link. An icon with your log on (Windows AD user name) will appear.
3. Enter your old password, new password and retype your new password as indicated on the screen. Click on the arrow button. Note: your Windows AD password must adhere to the following:

- Length needs to be at least 8 characters
- Must contain an upper and lower case letter and a number
- Should not be your first or last name
- Should not be your temporary password
- Should not be easily guessed
- Must be unique (i.e. not used by you before)
