Creating a Desktop Alias

To create an alias or shortcut to a directory/folder on the CALS Network Fileserver ( volume:
  1. Log into and browse to the directory/folder
  2. Hold down the Control+Alt+Option and Command command_img.jpg  keys 
  3. Drag the folder to the desktop with the mouse
  4. As a result, the directory will be created on your desktop.   You'll see an arrow on the directory which indicates an "alias" to the directory on the CALS fileserver.   See below for an example.
