You can order either a physical copy or an electronic copy of your transcripts.  The cost of ordering a transcript is listed below:

First-class U.S. Postal Service - Free
Fedex to contiguous 48 states - $20.00
Fedex to Hawaii and Alaska- $23.00
Fedex outside the 50 states - $43.00

No phone, email, or fax requests can be accepted. 

By federal law, transcripts cannot be released to anyone without prior written authorization from the student. Therefore, telephone requests cannot be honored!

AN IMPORTANT NOTE: If a UW-Madison college, school, department, or facility (e.g., the Memorial Library) has placed a "hold" on your student record, a "release" from the unit placing the hold will be required before a transcript can be provided.  View the Fines & Holds page through the Registrar's website for more information on how to clear them.

 Please note that current unofficial transcripts can be found on Student Center.

Domestic Students: Diplomas for students graduating at the end of each semester will be mailed out approximately 12 weeks after graduation at no charge. Diplomas will be mailed to the student's HOME address, with the exception of international addresses (see below). If your diploma should be mailed to an address other than your home address, please provide a Diploma address. You can add or edit an address via your "Student Center".

Students should be sure that the HOME address is up-to-date through My Info or My UW.

International students: To receive your diploma by mail, you must add a Diploma address in Student Center. The Diploma address can be the same as your home address, but some address needs to be listed in Student Center with an address type of “Diploma.”

Students who have "holds" placed on their records for any type of service will not receive their diplomas until those holds are cleared.

Most students will receive an optional embossed diploma folder as part of their school/college’s commencement ceremony. Please check the information provided to you by your school/college, or The Registrar's Office will provide upon request diploma covers for students who are unable to participate in regular commencement events.

If you need replacement or duplicate copy of your diploma, please follow the instructions on the duplicate diploma order form. All diplomas, regardless of your degree or when you earned it, will be printed on 8- by 10-inch paper. The cost is $50, payable only with a check or money order. Processing, printing, and mailing your diploma can take up to six weeks.
