The Wisconsin Department of Revenue is offering free tax help (federal and state) Mondays and Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Villager Mall on Park Street in Madison, February1 through April 15. They will also be able to assist April 15. Those who earn a low income, are disabled, senior or don't speak English can get assistance.
What should I bring to the VITA/TCE site?
You must bring the following:
Social security cards for you, your spouse and your dependents
All wage and tax statements, including Forms W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, SSA-1099
Interest and dividend statements
Any other tax documents you received
If you are claiming homestead credit, you must also bring:
Copy of 2015 property tax bill or rent certificate signed by your landlord
Record of any Wisconsin Works payments you received in 2016
Record of any Wisconsin SSI you received in 2016
Note: If you are filing a joint return, both you and your spouse must be present.
