Whether you want help with the basic skills of running a business, or need special technical assistance, UW-Madison's Small Business Development Center is your business education resource.  They've helped create successful business stories since 1979. The staff of experienced business professionals teach seminars, answer telephone questions and perform FREE one-on-one counseling for business owners in Dane, Columbia and Sauk counties.

The Small Business Development Center provides entrepreneurs the resources and expertise to start, manage, or grow a small business. The center is staffed by experienced business professionals and offers education, training, and mentoring; one-on-one business counseling; and expert guidance and advice by phone.

In 2018 the center saw 353 consulting clients, clients started 23 new business and obtained over $14.31 million in capital.

The Wisconsin Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of Wisconsin Madison is part of a statewide network of SBDC’s and is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
