UW Colleges Online is part of the UW Colleges Institution. Students who take UWC Online courses can earn an Associate of Arts and Science (AAS) degree, complete their requirements for other degree programs, and/or take classes for other individual reasons. The online program offers online courses that run both a traditional semester and a summer term. Students attending a university need to apply as a special student. The UW Colleges Online courses transfer to UW-Madison and other institutions. The online program only offers undergraduate courses.

UW Colleges Online offers class opportunities entirely online from anywhere including home, school, work, or traveling afar. The UW Colleges degree -- The Associate of Arts & Science Degree -- fulfills the university-wide, college, school and general education breadth requirements for most bachelor's degree programs and is widely accepted by other institutions, including those within and beyond the UW System.
