The Gates of Heaven, built in 1863, is the fourth oldest surviving synagogue building in the nation. In 1970, the building was moved to James Madison Park. Owned by the City of Madison Parks Division, the Gates of Heaven contributes to the beauty and inclusion diversity of downtown Madison and is a popular site for performances, weddings and other gatherings. The seating capacity is 98 people. Reservations are taken starting October 1st for the following year. For rental details please see website.
