Supervisor check list for new student staff hires
Things supervisor of a newly hired student hourly needs to do to on-board their staff
Communicate in an e-mail with office manager:
- Student's Name
- Job Title and Rate of Pay
- Start Date*
*Federal Law requires new hires to to have completed I9 paperwork and present credential documents to Office Manager within 3 days of being hired; be mindful that some new hires will need to retrieve documents from another location. Please plan hiring timeline accordingly.
Communicate with New hire:
- The need for staff to complete New Hire Survey (Qualtrics) - Office Manager uses the responses to determine what steps are needs to hire student, as well as get information to order name tags and apparel. Please communicate to all new hires that this is a key step to their hiring process
- Send offer letter - Remember to include all training dates and mandatory CFYE events in your offer letter- templates are located at: O:\Student Staff\Hiring - Please use templates as these have language that further stresses importance of the new hire survey.
