CHM - Branding & Engagement

Welcome to the Branding and Engagement resource area! You'll find information that will help you represent our brand when writing, talking and presenting about Center for Healthy Minds (CHM), along with information about internal requests for projects and assets.

Branding Resources

Our brand guidelines shape how we tell our story and reinforce experiences with our audiences. We encourage all CHM community members to read through and consult our brand guide, which provides a broad view of our brand, including mission/vision, style guides, target audiences and more.

Internal Client Request

Do you have a request for the Engagement Team? Use this quick in-take form to contact our team about potential needs and support for your upcoming projects related to:

  • PR & Communications

  • Marketing & Advertising

  • Marketing Consultation & Strategy

  • Multimedia Design

Filling out the in-take form will help us find a solution.

Image/Assets Request

The Center hosts its visual assets, including photos and video, in an archive accessible by the Center's Engagement Team. We also have a smaller collection of our most-frequently used visual assets on our digital asset management system called Canto.

Send your existing photo/asset request to: Multimedia designer Hannah Sandvold (hsandvold@wisc.edu). An asset request from CHM's iStock Essentials photo collection is also an option. You can also view and download free imagery from the UW-Madison Photo Library.

Note: Day-of requests may not be possible, so allow up to three business days for a response.

Writing Tips

Writing for a general audience

It is usually recommended that you write at an 8th grade level when writing for a general audience in the United States to ensure that at least 80% of the public will understand. Below are some resources for meeting that target.
