Assembling the 8x8 Butterfly Kit #4 (group B only)
The kit contains 8 square 4' tubes that connect to form a frame; then you will stretch and tie the rag over the frame. Thumb screws on the connections allow for quick assembly.
In the standard setup, baby pins are on opposite sides of the frame. Before attaching the rags, put the frame in the overhead stand. The ropes around the edges only need to be tied for exteriors; use a standard shoelace knot.
The accessories in the bag allow you to switch from the baby pin to a set of ears. The ear setup is more secure and is recommended for exterior shooting. Use the Allen wrench to remove the baby pins.
Insert and tighten the straight connectors.
The ear slides over the square frame and locks into place with a thumb screw. The ear should be at a right angle to the frame.
Loosen the grip head and drop the ear into place.
When storing, place the corners (the heavy part) in the case at the end with the wheels.
