Makeup Kit
Makeup kit and proper makeup hygiene
Makeup and accessories can transfer bacteria and diseases if used improperly or not cleaned. Follow these steps to ensure safe hygiene with makeup kits:
- NEVER double-dip: Never put your brush directly into the main makeup container. Scrape a small amount of the needed dry or liquid makeup onto a clean makeup tray or paper towel and apply it from there.
- Use disposables: Do not share mascara, lip brushes, or other single-user items. Instead, purchase disposable mascara wands or sponges. Or, ask your talent to bring their own.
- Sanitize powders: Mist the top layer of powders and other dry makeup with isopropyl alcohol before and after use, allowing a few minutes to dry before sealing.
- Clean brushes: Wash all brushes in warm antibacterial soap and allow to dry fully before returning to the kit.
- Disinfect pencils: Spray lip and eye pencils with isopropyl alcohol, wipe them, sharpen them to expose a full tip, then spray/wipe again before use.
