The Dana Dolly set up procedure
- Gently screw together pieces of pipe in 4-foot multiples, up to 12 feet.
- Place the two Rail Mounts with the junior pin facing up opposite each other with the appropriate distance between them. Insert pipe through both ends; lock and screw the four ends tight.
- Set up and adjust two of the Dana Dolly Stands (Low Boys) to the desired height for your shot. With one person on each end of the track, lift and flip them over so junior pins are facing down, and place them in the junior receivers. Lock the receiver knuckles on the stands.
- Check that the track is level. Adjust the rocky mountain legs to level the track. The track is not designed to run on an incline.
- If the track is over 4 ft, place the center support bar onto the third Dana Dolly Stand (Low Boy). Raise the support in the center of the tracks to give support and balance. Be careful not to lift the track with this stand; lock it into place.
- Place the Dana Dolly Shuttle on the tracks. Ensure all wheels are aligned correctly on the rails, and the dolly runs smoothly.
- Place the 100mm Tripod Head/Bowl Adapter on the top of the Dana Dolly Shuttle. Remove the tripod head from the tripod sticks and place the tripod head into the Tripod Head/Bowl Adapter. Place the washer and the bottom tie down (from your tripod) under the shuttle onto the tripod threading. Screw and secure tight.
- After assembling, leveling, and locking down the tripod head, be sure the Dana Dolly Shuttle does not hit any support and runs smoothly along the track. To prevent the dolly from sliding left and right, push the Dana Dolly Shuttle to one end of the track and put a sandbag next to it on one of the tracks to secure it.
