Device maintenance by Microsoft may impact workloads using the ExpressRoute through Chicago.
Be aware if you're using the UW Madison hosted ExpressRoute. We believe that there will be zero or minimal (12-15 seconds) impact due to redundancy, and are not expecting any workload interruptions.

We're performing scheduled maintenance on Microsoft Enterprise edge router for Azure ExpressRouteYou're receiving this email because you use Microsoft Enterprise edge routers with Azure ExpressRoute. Starting in two weeks, we'll perform scheduled maintenance for Microsoft Enterprise edge routers. Each ExpressRoute circuit consists of two connections to two Microsoft Enterprise edge routers from the connectivity provider or your network edge to provide redundancy and high availability during outages. When maintenance occurs on one edge router, the other (redundant) edge router takes over, ensuring minimal impact to traffic flow. Maintenance of the edge routers is planned for two work windows as indicated in the following table:
Before maintenance occurs, verify your connectivity over ExpressRoute as explained in ExpressRoute redundancy requirements. For information about the ExpressRoute architecture, see the ExpressRoute overview. If you have any questions or experience issues during maintenance, please contact Azure Support. |
