Device Activation
Instructions on how to activate a new device for a customer either in the portal, but phone or by email
Activate a Device
AT&T:

- TO: tate@att.com
- Subject: Activate Device
- Please activate the following device

- Account
- Number
- Device ID (MEID/IMEI)
- SIM# (ICCID)
- Username (Person that will be using the device)

US Cellular:

- Account
- Number
- Device ID (MEID/IMEI)
- SIM# (ICCID)
- Username (Person that will be using the device)

Portal
-
- Login to the US Cellular portal
- Enter the Account number the device is billed to if the following is not already on screen
- Activate an Ordered Device/SIM
- Enter the phone number
- Check box next to number, check the blue Activate.
- You will receive email confirmation of activation
- Send customer Cherwell email that the device has been activated.
- Login to the US Cellular portal
Customer Self Service
If you're upgrading your device on an existing line or if you're bringing your number to UScellular from another carrier:

If you're activating a new line with a new phone number:

Verizon:

- Subject: Activate Device
- Please activate the following device

- Username (Person that will be using the device)

Phone
- Call Verizon Device Activations 877-807-4646 (usually an automated process)
- If asked for a PIN: 5963
- Enter the Mobile Number of the device you wish to Activate
- When asked if you want to activate the device now, respond Yes (or 1?) to confirm
- Once confirmed hang up, or speak with an agent if there is an issue
Portal
- Login to the Verizon portal

- Under the Service section, enter the phone number of the line.
- At Device ID: Click on Activate
- Enter Device ID
- Enter SIM (if smart phone)
- Verify the user name
- Click Continue

- Click on Review; verify information and click Submit.
Cherwell
- Send customer Cherwell email that the device has been activated.
