Infoblox DNS: Add a DNS resource record (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, PTR, TXT, SRV ...)
A, AAAA, CNAME, NS, PTR, TXT produce simple forms that are self explanatory to those who know DNS basics.  As such they are omitted here.

Examples of MX and SRV are provided below.

* Navigate to "Data Management -> DNS -> Zones"
* Choose the zone you need to edit
* Choose '+', Record -> Needed record
 - if you need a record other than what is listed, escalate:  see [Link for document 8123 is unavailable at this time]

MX

Lets's assume you were trying to reproduce the following record

3dniche.wisc.edu.          IN      MX    5 smtp.wiscmail.wisc.edu.

* leave "Mail destination" blank
* Enter 'smtp.wiscmail.wisc.edu' in the 'Mail Exchanger" box
* choose '5' in the preference drop down.
* Comment, Save & Close

SRV

Lets's assume you were trying to reproduce the following record

_vlmcs._tcp.3dniche.wisc.edu. IN      SRV 0 0 1688 ms-kms-1.services.wisc.edu.

*  Under 'Display input as' choose 'Free format'.  If you choose "RFC 2782 format" you can alternatively use the "Service" and "Protocol" dropdowns
* Enter "_vlmcs._tcp" under Domain
* Priority is the first number, in this case, '0'
* Weight is the second number, in this case, '0'
* Port is the third number, in this case, '1688'
* Under target put 'ms-kms-1.services.wisc.edu'
* Comment, Save & Close
