Posting Title: ArtsEngine/a2ru Executive Intern Stipend: $5,000 per semester
Timeframe: 2017-2018 academic year. Fall 2017 or Fall 2017 & Winter 2018 semesters combined (August 15-December 15) / OR (August 15-Decemember 15 & January 3 – May 2 combined). We are currently NOT looking for Winter 2018 interns as a one-semester internship. Winter 2018 is available as full-year only

Job Summary: ArtsEngine and the Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities (a2ru) invite applicants to apply for a unique executive internship experience. This internship is open to graduate and terminal degree students (Ph.D./MFA/DMA/Ed.D), working in the areas of interdisciplinary arts integration and higher education. It will provide practical and applied experiences designed to strengthen and develop the intern’s skills and knowledge in arts management and interdisciplinary arts integrative programming in higher education. The internship experience is designed to provide a positive learning experience that will advance the professional and academic skill set of the intern through active contribution to the growth and success of ArtsEngine/a2ru as on-campus and national organizations
The executive intern will be introduced to senior-level responsibilities including but not limited to: organizational programming, event management, marketing and communications, committee work, fundraising and membership, and large conference event management. The executive intern will provide leadership, administration, coordination, and logistical support on discrete projects, and deliverables as requested and required by ArtsEngine/a2ru. Additional projects and internship emphasis will be tailored to align with the intern’s background, interests, and individual skill sets.
The executive intern will spend 1-2 semesters in residence at the University of Michigan working full-time in the offices of ArtsEngine/a2ru. The executive intern is expected to work a full-time, semi-flexible schedule of 35 – 40 hours per week. Special accommodations will be made for meetings, networking opportunities, events, and conferences that apply to the intern’s primary field of study or internship goals. Support will be available for one approved professional development activity (conference or workshop attendance, training course, etc.).
