University of Iowa Center for Teaching open position
The University of Iowa Center for Teaching (CfT) is seeking a Teaching and Learning Specialist focused on the professional development of graduate Teaching Assistants and postdoctoral researchers. In addition, this person will work with TAs and Faculty Fellows in the Learning Design Collaboratory, a new institutional course redesign initiative that offers individualized course design teams, a Faculty Community of Practice, and learning analytics.
* Collaborating with the Center for Teaching Director, other Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology staff members, and Graduate College staff to support graduate students by providing consultation and training. Create, sustain, and assess programs and initiatives that support the teaching excellence of graduate student and postdoc instructors (e.g., teaching workshops, consultations, and evaluation of teaching).
* Collaborating with Graduate College staff in support of Grad College programs.
* Partnering with other CfT staff to develop innovative, evidence-based teaching strategies, assessment methods, and technology integration.
* Creating and sustaining a rich web presence directed to graduate students and post-doctoral researchers who seek to enhance their teaching knowledge and skills.
This is a regular, full-time Professional & Scientific position.
