Citrix Workspace APP Graphic Rendering Slow with HealthLink

Specific to the latest Dell Latitude and Optiplex computers and perhaps others connecting to UW Health Healthlink operating under Windows 11 with Intel based integrated video, the Citrix Workspace APP graphic rendering is poor.

History and Solution

History - Citrix acknowledges there are graphic rendering problems as cited under CTX224676 knowledge base Citrix KB with Windows 11 23H2 and CTX273317 Citrix KB with the VDA. The workstation fix found under at Citrix public forum Citrix Forum is a discussion and possible solution.

Solution - A registry modification to change graphic rendering tested by SMPH Dermatology has resolved this problem on a Dell Latitude's 7450 operating Windows 11 23H2. Using notepad copy the following listed below into a new notepad document and save as "UseD3DHybrid.reg" file, then merge into the systems registry. Note, if you uninstall or update Citrix you may have to reapply the .reg update.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Configuration\Advanced\Modules\GfxRender]
"UseD3DHybrid"=dword:00000000

Note, after the registry is update is should look similar to this:
Registry

This registry modification can also be distributed using a remote management tool, we have successfully distributed using HCL BigFix.
