VA Remote Access - Card Reader Failure Windows 11 24H2

Windows 11 24H2 fails to recognize the VA PIV card and card reader SCR3310v2 required to access remote systems. Windows 11 prompts the user with an error message "A driver cannot load on this device" Driver: S3XXx64.sys and the device shows an error in the device manager.
This is a summary of information collected from Microsoft and other forums.
Driver Error
1. Specific to the SCR3310v2 card reader download and install the latest drivers from the vendor at https://support.identiv.com/scr3310v2/ after updating you should no longer see the windows popup message or error in the device manager.
2 . Make sure you have the PIV card drivers installed download from https://na.idemia.com/technology-resources/drivers/ 
3. Modify the registry, specifically add the computers "LOCAL SERVICE" account to the Calais registry key with "Full Control" at

-Run Regedit.exe:

• Go to the following key:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Calais

-Check the permissions for LOCAL SERVICE (if not there, add it). Make it "Full Control":

• Right-click on the key (Calais) and select "Permissions..." from the pop-up menu

• Click on LOCAL SERVICE to select it

• Allow "Full Control"

4. Close and save the registry, reboot the computer. If this did not resolve your problems, see the following links for additional information.
