When two different multi-factor authentication (MFA) apps are used on the same device where MFA is required, and the Microsoft Authenticator apps is installed, the Outlook App for iOS defaults to the Microsoft Authentication app, this default can generate the error message "work flow error" when a user is attempting to setup their account if the primary MFA app is not Microsoft Authenticator; in this case Duo is the preferred MFA tool. Because UW uses Duo and our partner institution UW Health uses Microsoft Authenticator and both institutions have Microsoft hosted email, Outlook prioritizes MFA to Microsoft Authenticator.

Solution: Rather than having the affected user use a push notification for MFA with Duo, the user should select the manual input code option. When selecting this option is will force Outlook to offer the user the option of selecting a MFA tool.
