Perceptive Content Desktop Client and Management Console
Perceptive Content Client is a desktop interface that provides access to all functions including document capture, indexing, viewing, workflow, and document control functionality.
Before installing, check that your Windows workstation meets these Perceptive Content Desktop Client requirements.
Using the Perceptive Content client requires read/write access to the following folders:
%ProgramFiles(x86)%\ImageNow
(for workstation configuration)%ProgramData%\ImageNow
%AppData%\ImageNow
(for each user to save preferences, etc.)
VPN Requirements
A WiscVPN connection is required to authenticate to both the Perceptive Content desktop client and the Titan or Perceptive Experience web clients if you are not on campus.
Macintosh support
There is no client for the MacOS/*nix family of operating systems. One must either connect to a client installed on a Windows system via Microsoft Remote Desktop (or some similar product like Citrix) or install the Windows client in a Virtual Machine on one's computer. While the Perceptive Content client will work in virtualized environments, virtualized environments are NOT supported for scanners. Examples of such Virtual Machine products are VirtualBox, VMWare, and Parallels. If you have a recent vintage Macintosh computer, you also have the option of using Bootcamp which allows you to install a version of Windows and start your Macintosh in either MacOS or Windows. Using Bootcamp or a Virtual Machine requires that you have a legitimate, licensed version of the Windows operating system. Talk to your IT support group about what virtual environments are options for you.
PEDS - Perceptive Enterprise Deployment Service
If workstations are updated by PEDS, it is strongly recommended that .NET Framework 4.5.2 is installed prior to any deployment. While PEDS will automatically install .NET if it is missing, this process can take hours when the client installation would otherwise take minutes.
