Palo Alto GlobalProtect

Unless you are on campus and connected to the network via an Ethernet cable, you will also need to run the Palo Alto GlobalProtect Client before you will be able to connect to the Application Delivery Service portal. This application is also available for free and comes pre-installed on all SoE issued laptops.

1.)  Open your preferred web browser and navigate to:   https://apps.wceruw.org

2.)  Log into the web portal using your School of Education username and password.  Enter your username in the form "soe-ad\<username>" (e.g. "soe-ad\jbloggs")

3.)  Once you have logged in to the web portal, you will see a list of available applications organized by folder.  To see the applications available in a folder, single-click on the folder to open it.  You may then single-click on the "Up" folder icon to return to the parent folder.

4.)  To launch an application, single-click on the icon for that application - note that you should not double-click the icon, this will download two copies of the application.

5.)  After clicking, a remote session of the selected application will download to your computer.  Open this downloaded "Remote Desktop" type file from either your downloads folder, your browser's downloads, or the folder you have selected for your downloads to go to (Desktop, Documents, etc.).

6.)  You will then see a pop-up window asking for your permission to connect to the application.  Click on "Connect" to grant permission and launch the selected software.  You will be prompted once again for your user logon information.  Please note that if this is the first time you are using the service, there may be some delay.  Some applications such as Adobe Photoshop can take 30-45 seconds to complete their launch preparations.

7.)  While using the Application Delivery Service (ADS), you will NOT have direct access to the files and folders on your local computer hard drive.  Instead, you will have access to one or more of the following network locations managed by the School of Education:  your personal user drive (P://username), a departmental drive (T://), and project drives (N://).  Save all of your work on the appropriate network drive(s). If you do not see any applications or remote desktop links when you log in, contact the School of Education Help Desk at helpdesk@education.wisc.edu or (608) 265-4773 - you may not be a member of the security group that grants access.
