Kumo Client -- Verify Cloud-Storage Drives

Check that cloud-storage drives are visible after logging in to Windows.

Overview

Kumo links your Microsoft Windows account to cloud storage served by Box, Google, and other providers. When installed, it quietly mounts your cloud-storage drives (e.g., Box, GoogleDrive, etc.) at each login.

Check Prerequisites

Note that the Kumo Client can mount cloud storage if you have already configured the service at the Kumo web portal. If you have not or are unsure, visit "https://kumo.education.wisc.edu", login to the Kumo Portal with your SoE-AD Windows account, and follow the directions for configuring Kumo for Box, Google Drive, or Microsoft OneDrive.

Login and Check if Cloud-Storage Drives Exist

  1. Choose "Start > Shutdown > Logoff" to logoff.
  2. Type your Windows account username and password to login.
  3. Within a minute after logging in, the Kumo Client icon will appear in the System Tray to report mapped cloud storage then disappear.
  4. Open a folder window by double-clicking the "Computer" icon of your Desktop or by pressing [Windows+E] to see cloud-storage drives on your computer.
