Uploading, Replacing and Managing Images
Find out all about images in Eloqua
About images
- You only need to upload an image once. If you upload an image using any of the methods below, you can use it again and again across emails and landing pages. You do not need to upload an image each time you use it.
- Images can be resized, hyperlinked and have padding added within an email or landing page, but you cannot edit (crop, recolor, etc.) an image in Eloqua.
- Creating subfolders in your user group's folder will help you keep your content organized and easy to locate.
Uploading an image in an email
You can upload an image directly into a content block in an email.
- Select the image block, you want to fill, then click the up arrow. Or, if you look at the control panel on the left, you'll see an Upload button. Click it.
- A window will pop up with a blue cloud. Click the cloud to navigate to where your saved images are on your computer.
- Once you have selected the image you want to upload, ensure that the Where dropdown (in red below) shows your folder.
Don't forget, you can type in the Where dropdown folder to search for your folder. You can also click the down arrow (highlighted in yellow in the image above) to explore all folders.
Do not upload your images to the root folder or a different user group's folder. Make sure you are uploading to your own folder. - Click Upload.
- Your image will upload and be placed in the content block you selected previously. You can resize, hyperlink and add padding to the image in the control panel on the left.
Uploading and managing images directly in your folder
You can easily see all of your uploaded images in your user group's folder.
- Navigate to all of your images by going to Assets > Components > Images. Then find your group's folder. To help you find your folder, you can toggle the view between thumbnails and a list by clicking these buttons:
(If you switch to the list view and click the Name heading, you can alphabetize the folders.) - Open your user group's folder. In this view, you can:
- Rename images.
- Create subfolders to organize your images.
- Move images to different folders.
- Upload new images.
This is a great place to upload images! You can upload multiple images, and it also defaults to saving the images in whatever folder you are in!
Replacing images
Sometimes you want to replace an image with a different version (different size, crop, etc.).
- Find the image you want to replace. (Don't forget you can toggle back to thumbnail view to help you locate the correct image.) Double-click the image to open it.
- Click Update Image, the button in the bottom left corner.
- Browse to the new image you want to use and open it.
- After a bit, you'll see the new image. (If it looks the same, you may not see much of a difference. You can also check out the Image Dimensions if you cropped it to see the difference.) Click Save.
