InterPro - Online Learning - InterPro Credit Learners - Student Access and Archiving of Course Materials

Effective archiving of credit course material.

InterPro Online Graduate Programs

Students are responsible for collecting and saving any of their own course materials upon completion of the course. Students will have access to course materials as stated below unless otherwise noted by their instructor.
  • Learning Management System (i.e., Canvas)
    • Students will have access to their Canvas course sites after the course has concluded unless otherwise specified by the course instructor. To collect course resources, videos, discussion forum posts, and assignment files, see the helpful hints section below. Students are typically notified by email 90 days before NetID services are terminated, which ends access to Canvas.
  • UW-Madison Box and Google Workspace
    • If students choose to use Box or Google Workspace for coursework, it must be archived to a local drive or personal cloud storage before the student loses UW NetID access.
  • Web Conference Video Recordings (i.e., Zoom)
    • Course web conference recordings are kept in Zoom for 150 days following the recording date and should be saved and downloaded by the student for offline viewing within this time frame.

Helpful Hints for Effective Archiving and Collecting of Course Material from the Canvas Course Site

  • Readings and resources are often files that can be downloaded.
  • The discussion threads and other pages can be saved manually as PDF (print to pdf) and downloaded.
  • If your course has recorded video lectures or presentations, the ability to save and download may vary by course, and how the videos were delivered.  For example, if a video is streaming only, you will be unable to download and archive the video.  You can save the link to the video, but the extended access to the streaming video may vary.
