How to Operate the QSC Conferencing System Using the Mersive Solstice Pod

Basic Instructions on How to Operate the QSC Conferencing System Using the Mersive Solstice Pod in the CoE Conference Spaces.

Step #1: Locate the QSC touch panel located near the front of the conference space. Currently, if you plan to utilize the camera/microphone functions, you will need to insert the USB cable into your personal device. NOTE: EH 3609 has a CAE provided computer connected to the USB cable, which operates the conference technology within the room. Users will need an active CAE account to log-in to the device. To activate a CAE account, please visit  https://newuser.my.cae.wisc.edu/account

Step #3: Once the Mersive Solstice pod and projector are powered on, you will be prompted to download the Mersive Solstice app which will allow you to connect to the display wirelessly. A QR code will be available on the main Solstice page to scan with the camera on your phone which will direct you to the instructions located in the link below.

Step #4: Now that your device is connected wirelessly to the projection display (or via the CAE computer or HDMI cable), you can open your conferencing software of choice and begin your meeting. As shown below, once the USB cable is connected (or you're logged into the CAE computer) and depending on your video conferencing software, you will need to select the QSC: speakers (located near the projector screen), microphone (located in the ceiling above the conference table), and camera in your respective video conferencing A/V settings. Using the QSC touch panel, you can modify/preview your camera selection ('Presenter' or 'Audience' view), camera controls (zoom in, zoom out, left, right, up, or down), master volume and speaker/microphone mute functions.
