Hiring - Recruitment - Additional Wording for Job Postings

This document provides sample language for hiring managers to include in the request to fill (RTF) that will be included in the job posting.

All Positions


Where to include: Additional Information 

Statewide/Location Flexible Recruitment Text to include: Division of Extension headquarters are located within Madison, WI but the position location is flexible and will be determined based on programmatic needs and successful candidate’s preferences and availability of suitable space.

Regional Recruitment Text to include: The primary programming focus is [INSERT COUNTY(s)]; however, programming will be conducted over a broader geographical area. Hiring Bonus

**All recruitments are required to post standard eligibility language or identify that the recruitment is sponsorship eligible. All sponsorship eligible recruitments must receive approval from Extension HR and meet all UW-Madison and Department of Labor policy requirements. 

Physical Requirements

If a physical requirement is truly required for a job, it should be included in the qualifications field which will flow to the job posting for applicants to see. Do not list physical requirements that would be ‘nice to have’ – physical requirements must be relevant to the job and absolutely required.

Bilingual Prefix

Tribal Affiliation Language

Examples of Qualifications for Tribal positions:

  1. Experience working with college-going Native American students and/or students/families from backgrounds historically underrepresented in higher education. 
  2. In depth knowledge of tribal enrollment, tribal government, and the complexities associated with indigenous identity. 

  3. A person with strong connections with Tribal communities and/or organizations in the Great Lakes region. 

  4. Understanding of and experience working with Native Nations communities. 

  5. An individual who is recognized as a partner by tribal communities of Wisconsin or will be able to quickly develop relationships with the twelve American Indian Nations of Wisconsin. 

  6. Ability and understanding of Native Nations Governance and Sovereignty and ability to work with diverse tribes.
