How to Register & Check Required Training Completion Status
This article details how Division of Extension employees can register for and check if they are in compliance with UW-Madison and Extension required trainings that are required for pay increases.
Overview
- Extension employees are required to be up to date on several required trainings in order to be eligible for pay adjustments (base increases or bonuses), pay plan, discretionary compensation funds, and annual compensation adjustment processes.
- Whether an employee is up to date on a required training depends on when they last took the required training and the policy requirements.
- Employees can review their required training course history to determine if they are up to date on required training.
- The subsequent sections lays out instructions for employees to check if they are up to date on each training required to be eligible for pay adjustments.

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
Instructions to Check your Completion Status:
- Go to UW-Madison Professional Development
- Click on "Review your course history"
- Login using your UW-Madison NetID & password
- Click on "Transcript"
- Look for the most recent completion of the required training (please note that the name of the required training can change from year to year. Look for "Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence" in the Event Title (note: the naming of this course can change year to year or even more frequently, reference step #7 to ensure that you are up to date within the required period of time).
- Verify that the attended column shows "Complete" and the grade shows "100."
- This training is required within 30 days of starting employment and every 4 years after that. Verify that you have completed the training in the last 4 years.

Cybersecurity Awareness Training
Instructions to Check your Completion Status:
- Go to UW-Madison Professional Development
- Click on "Review your course history"
- Login using your UW-Madison NetID & password
- Click on "Transcript"
- Look for the most recent completion of the required training (it should have a title that includes "Cybersecurity Awareness Training [YEAR]). (note: the naming of this course can change year to year or even more frequently, reference step #7 to ensure that you are up to date within the required period of time).
- Verify that the attended column shows "Complete" and the grade shows "100."
- This training is required annually. Verify that you have completed the training within the last year.

Civil Rights 101 Training
Instructions to Check your Completion Status:
- Go to UW-Madison Professional Development
- Click on "Review your course history"
- Login using your UW-Madison NetID & password
- Click on "Transcript"
- Look for the most recent completion of the required training (it should have a title that includes "Civil Rights 101 Training").
- Verify that the attended column shows "Complete" and the grade shows "100."
- This training is required every 3 years. Verify that you have completed the training within the last 3 years.
