Weeks Copiers - Printing
You need to be connected to the Geoscience wireless network or the Geoscience Ethernet wired network in order to complete the installation and print.
macOS Installation
Click the button below to download a zip file containing an installer package. Run the installer named weeks-copiers-macos-1.4.pkg. The package will automatically download the driver files, then install the two copiers as Weeks Copier 1, and Weeks Copier 2. No further configuration is needed.
Windows Installation
Connect to a Weeks Network Printer
Open your computer's Settings Panel.
Click on the Devices option.
In the Devices view, click on the Printers & Scanners option.
Click on the "+" sign next to Add a Printer or Scanner.
Scroll to the bottom of the list of available printers and click the blue text that says The printer that I want isn't listed. The list of available printers may grow while scrolling as your computer searches for available printers.
Select the radio button for Add a printer using an IP address or hostname.
Select Next.
Select Device Type: TCP/IP Device
Enter the Hostname of the printer you would like to install:
\\weeks_copier1.geology.wisc.edu or \\weeks_copier2.geology.wisc.edu
Uncheck: Query the printer and automactically select the driver to use
Click Next
Click "Have Disk"
Click “Browse” and browse to the folder where you extracted the driver to earlier.
Within the extracted folder, go into the “disk1” folder and Click on/ highlight the file “OEMSETUP” and click “Open” in the bottom right.
Select OK
Choose “Ricoh” in the Manufacturer box on the left, then choose your printer model in the ‘Printers’ box on the right and click ‘Next’
The print server will automatically install the printer's driver for you.
You will receive a confirmation that the printer has been installed and will have a generic name. You can leave the name as it's shown or change it to Weeks Copier1, Weeks Copier2, or whatever you would like.
Select Next.
For Printer Sharing, select “Do not share this printer” and click Next.
You can configure this printer to be your default printer by checking the box for Set as the default printer.
Test the configuration by selecting Print a test page or try to print something after you click Finish.
Select Finish.
