UW-Madison Google Workspace - Recover files from a Shared Drive's trash folder
The process of accessing and recovering files from a shared drive's trash is slightly different than with a Google My Drive's trash. This article shows how to access and recover deleted files from a Google Shared Drive.
How to access a Google Shared Drive's trash folder
- Log into Google Drive.
- Select shared drives on the left sidebar.
- Select a shared drive to view its trash folder.
- Once the shared drive is open, return to the left sidebar and select Trash.
- View each shared drive's trash folder by selecting the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
- The drop-down menu allows you to see a list of and choose from other drives.
- The trash folder will list deleted files that may be recoverable.
- Select a file and right-click or use the buttons in the upper-left to recover/delete the file.
