UW-Madison Google Workspace - Recommended Browsers

This document contains the list of recommended web browsers for use with UW-Madison Google Workspace.

Browser Selection and Recommendation

Google only fully supports the most current release of Google Chrome. In older browsers, you may have trouble using certain features.

Chrome

Supports all Google Workspace features and functionality
Firefox 

Works well with Google Workspace, but doesn't support:

  • Offline access to Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
  • Client-side encryption in Meet
  • Accessibility tools (for example, screen readers)
Safari
Microsoft Edge

Works well with Google Workspace, but doesn't support:

  • Offline access to Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides
  • Desktop notifications in Gmail
  • Accessibility tools (for example, screen readers)
