GSTS - How to See an Exception on a Student Advisement Report

This document instructs users on how to view an exception added to a student's Advisement Report.

Exception(s) on an Advisement Report

Programs may request an exception be added to a student's advisement report. To see an exception on a report:

  1. Open the student's advisement report
  2. Scroll to the section where the exception was to be added.

How to See an Exception

Click on the hyperlinked number in the notes column (red arrow in image).

How Different Types of Exceptions Appear on Reports

There are three types of exceptions that may appear on a student advisement report in different ways. Click on the tabs for more information.

Course Substitution

Once you click on the hyperlinked number, the note attached to the exception will appear like the example below. Screenshot of note attached to an exception

Requirement Change

The section changed will be denoted with a hyperlinked note stating, "Required units or courses have been changed."

Requirement Waiver

The section waived will be hidden and a status of "waived" appears. The note attached to the exception is also visible on the report.
