GSTS - How View an Exception on a Student Advisement Report
This document instructs users on how to view an exception added to a student's Advisement Report.
Exception on an Advisement Report
Programs may request an exception be added to a student's Advisement Report. To view an exception on a report, follow the instructions below.
- Generate the student's Advisement Report by following this KB: https://kb.wisc.edu/grad/94819.
- Scroll to the section where the exception was to be added.
The three types of exceptions will appear in different ways as shown below.
Course Substitution
- The course substituted in the section of the Advisement Report is noted by a number in the "notes" column (see red arrow in image).
- Click on the number in the "notes" column to read the note attached to the exception.
Requirement Change
- The section changed will be denoted with a hyperlinked note stating, "Required units or courses have been changed."
- Click on the hyperlink to view the note attached to the exception.
Requirement Waiver
- The section waived will be hidden and a status of "waived" appears. The note attached to the exception is also visible on the report.
