GSTS - How View an Exception on a Student Advisement Report
This document instructs users on how to view an exception added to a student's Advisement Report.
Exception on an Advisement Report
Programs may request an exception be added to a student's Advisement Report. To view an exception on a report, follow the instructions below.
- Generate the student's Advisement Report by following this KB: https://kb.wisc.edu/grad/94819.
- Scroll to the section where the exception was to be added.
The three types of exceptions will appear in different ways as shown below.
Course Substitution
The course substituted in the section of the Advisement Report is noted by a number in the "notes" column (see red arrow in image).
Click on the number in the "notes" column to read the note attached to the exception.
Requirement Change
The section changed will be denoted with a hyperlinked note stating, "Required units or courses have been changed."
Click on the hyperlink to view the note attached to the exception.
Requirement Waiver
The section waived will be hidden and a status of "waived" appears. The note attached to the exception is also visible on the report.
