Accessing GSTS Advisement Reports
How to Access Reports (video tutorial)
Instructions
- Log in to https://madison.sis.wisc.edu using your NetID and password, and click the compass icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen to open the NavBar.
- Once open select Academic Advisement, then Student Advisement, and finally Request Advisement Report.
- When running a report for a student it is recommended to always go to the Add a New Value tab to generate a report with the most up to date information (if running a report for the first time will not be able to use the Find an Existing Value tab). Once on the Add a New Value tab - in the ID field enter the student's EmplID*, enter the Report Type as GRADV, and click Add. Note that this is the SIS EmplID, not the Campus ID, and it can be found by looking at the student's record in the Records and Enrollment module of SIS or using the magnifying glass to open an advanced search window.
- Click Process Request.
- The following screen should then be displayed. This provides general information that explains what GSTS is, and includes a disclaimer for users that course exceptions and prior coursework may not be displayed in the report.
- Once a report has been requested for a student you can use the Find an Existing Value tab to search for the report. In the ID field enter the student's EmplID*, enter the Report Type as GRADV, and click Search. However, it is recommended that you use the Add a New Value tab to generate a new report each time and ensure you are looking at the most up to date information.
Note that reports will automatically run nightly.
