Zoom crashes when screen sharing
When trying to screen share during a Zoom meeting, the application crashes with an error "Zoom unexpectedly closed."
Typically, this is a result of the customer having the 32-bit version of Zoom installed when they should have the 64-bit.
Verify the 64-bit version of Zoom is installed:
- Open Task Manager
- Under Processes tab, find Zoom Meetings
- If Zoom has "32-bit" next to it, then the 32-bit version is installed.
- If Zoom has nothing after it, then the 64-bit version is installed.
- Uninstall Zoom (32-bit)
- Install the 64-bit version from https://zoom.us/download
If the problem is still occurring:
Update all of the computer's drivers.
Modify the Video Rendering Method:
- Open Zoom > click the profile picture > Settings
- Select Video in the navigation menu
- Click Advanced
- Set Video Rendering Method to Direct3D9
- Restart the computer
