UW-Madison Google Workspace - Account Activation for FERPA students

This document describes how an account can be created for someone with the FERPA privacy flag set and what that entails for the end user.

Account Creation

If a user has privacy flagged any of their user information under FERPA, then when they try to access UW-Madison Google Workspace for the first time, their account will not be provisioned automatically and will be denied access.

If you would like to access UW-Madison Google Workspace with a FERPA privacy flag set, contact the DoIT Help Desk and see the implications of the request below.

Use of Google Apps with FERPA Privacy

If you have any user information flagged under FERPA and have a UW-Madison Google Workspace account created, you will be searchable within UW-Madison Google Workspace by other UW-Madison Google Workspace users. By contacting the DoIT Help Desk and requesting a UW-Madison Google Workspace account, you are consenting that this disclosure of information may be made.
