UW-Madison Profile - Update Campus Business Email Contact
Receiving a campus business email
To receive a campus business email address, an employee must have the following:
- An official, complete record of employment in Workday (can be prior to employment start date).
- An activated Madison NetID. See NetID - Activating Your Account or My UW Early NetID Activation for New Employees/POIs (UW-Madison only).
Once these steps are complete, the employee will automatically be assigned the default Office 365 email address (typically netid@wisc.edu). This gives the employee access to the Workday tile in MyUW.
Choosing a "preferred" business email address
UW-Madison employees
Employees can change their default address to a preferred address in Profile.
- Log in to Profile and navigate to the Contact Information page.

Scroll down to the Emails card. Click Edit Campus Business Email.
- Enter a valid email address (it cannot be left blank). Please allow 24 hours for the new address to be updated across campus systems, including Workday and the UW-Madison directory (White Pages).
NOTE: This address will override your Campus or Work Email addresses for all university business communications. Changing your campus business email will not delete your email address. The original campus business email will simply not be listed.
UW-System Administration or Extension Employees
If you are a UW-System Administration or Extension employee with a Dane County business address, please contact your local Human Resources to update your campus business email address.
