DoIT Number vs. Pro Card Comparison
This document compares the features/functionalities of the DoIT Number and Pro Card forms of payment.
DoIT Number:
A DoIT Number (commonly referred to as a D number) assigns your departmental funding string to an alphanumeric number that you can use to make easy, sortable, itemized purchases.
Procurement Card:
A Visa card (commonly referred to as a Pro Card or a P Card) issued by US Bank, assigned to a specific UW employee and tied to University funding. UW-Madison departments must use DoIT numbers for departmental purchases. Non-UW-Madison departments including UW-Extension can continue to use P-Cards.
