WiscMail / WiscMail Plus - Forwarding Email

This document explains how to use the WiscMail Account Administration page to set or change a WiscMail Plus e-mail forward.

Important: Forwarding setting can only be set/modified by certain accounts. Please review the information at the following document: WiscMail / WiscMail Plus - Administrative Rights.

Important: WiscMail Plus user and role-based accounts can have up to five forwarded addresses listed. Alias accounts can have only one forwarded address listed. You can forward these accounts to any valid email address (including WiscMail accounts).

Setting a Forward:

  1. Log into the Wisc Account Administration site using your NetID credentials.

  2. If you are prompted to select an account, select the desired account you want to manage. If you don't see your WiscMail Plus account listed here, you will need to add an authorized NetID for your WiscMail Plus account.

  3. Expand the "WiscMail" section and click on the Forwarding menu link. You will be presented with the following form:

  4. Enter the email address(es) you would like your mail delivered to in the fields provided.

  5. Click on the Save Forwarding Information button. A message should confirm the change.

Removing a Forward:

  1. Log into the Wisc Account Administration site using your NetID credentials.

  2. If you are prompted to select an account, select the desired account you want to manage. If you don't see your WiscMail Plus account listed here, you will need to add an authorized NetID for your WiscMail Plus account.

  3. Expand the "WiscMail" section and click on the Forwarding menu link. Your forwarding page should look similar to the picture below:

  4. Delete the forwarding address from the entry field and click Save Forwarding Information as shown below:

  5. Click on the Save Forwarding Information button. A message should confirm the change.

Notes:

  • Mail forwarded off is not kept on the WiscMail servers. Mail that arrived prior to the forward will remain in the WiscMail mailbox, but new messages will be routed to the forward address(es).
  • Forwarded messages are subjected to Virus scanning, and infectious attachments may be removed.
  • Some spam messages may be excluded from the forward. For further information see the WiscMail - Forward Policy.
  • Changes to this setting may take up to 15 minutes to take effect.
