Office 365 (Apple iCal/Calendar) - Modify Groups

Best Effort Support Only

This document contains instructions on using a non-Microsoft email client, such as Apple Mail or Thunderbird. Microsoft does not recommend these clients for use with Office 365, and there are often significant limitations in client functionality as a result.

Because of this, the DoIT Help Desk is only able to offer best effort support for these clients, and certain issues may require the use of a Microsoft client in order to be resolved. For more information on Office 365 client support, please see: Office 365 - Which clients/protocols will be supported?.

This document explains how to modify a group in Apple iCal (Mac OS 10.5-7) or Calendar (Mac OS 10.8-9).

Modify Groups

To modify a group in the Address Book (Mac OS 10.5-7) or Contacts (Mac OS 10.8-9) application:

NOTE The Edit Distribution List option you see if you CTRL-click or Right-click is NOT related to the group membership or the group name. It is related to attributes for the individual address entries in the group. If members of a group have multiple addresses (email or street) or phone numbers, you can select which address or phone number to use when sending a message to that group or when printing contact information. You can manage addresses for individual members of the group, or choose a type of address to use for all members of the group.
