Microsoft 365 - Default subject naming behavior when inviting a resource calendar

By default, when a resource calendar is invited, the subject will be replaced by the user's name within the resource calendar.

Let's take a look at the following example:

Bucky Badger has invite rights to the "Bucky Club" calendar (resource).

Bucky Badger creates a new event/meeting and adds "Bucky Club" calendar as an attendee. The subject of this event/meeting is "Homecoming Preparations".

The following is the result:

  • With Bucky Badger's calendar, the subject of the event/meeting will show as "Homecoming Preparations".
  • Within the "Bucky Club" calendar (resource), the subject of the event/meeting will show as "Bucky Badger".

This is the default behavior within Office 365.

Note: If the event/meeting is created on behalf of the resource, the subject will not be changed.
