Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) 11g- Set the Effective Date to Prevent Loss of HRS Access Due to Job Transfer
The effective date field in the Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) entitlement request process can be a powerful tool, particularly in the case of job transfers. This document explains how to use the Effective Date Field.
To use the effective date field properly it is important to know what happens to a user's account when they transfer jobs. When an HRS user transfers jobs, they lose their HRS security roles, as well as their data level access (business unit, division, department, sub-department) tied to their former job. To prevent loss of HRS access for the employee in their new job, you can set the Effective Date in OIM to equal the start date of their new job.
Entitlements can be requested up to 7 days in advance of an HRS user's new start date.
